Data-intensive online brand protection programs are growing among brand owners in the fight against product counterfeiting. While vital for online brand enforcement, it can also provide tangible benefits outside of brand protection operations. Data contribution from other organization components, outside of brand protection, can also combine with harvested online data to enhance security processes. This presentation will briefly explore the capabilities of cutting-edge online enforcement and screening technologies, so security professionals have a greater understanding of this technology role in a total business solution. This content encourages expand uses of the technology for other topic areas of concern to global security components that may fall outside of the traditional brand protection component.

Michael LeMieux
Michael LeMieux

Brand Protection Consultant

Currently serves as a Brand Protection Consultant at Yellow Brand Protection. Mr. LeMieux is retired from the FBI as a Supervisory Special Agent at the National Intellectual Property Rights Coordination Center, where he managed FBI investigations involving theft of trade secrets; counterfeit goods; and copyright and trademark infringement. In addition to intellectual property rights, Mr. LeMieux has specialized in financial crimes, corruption, antitrust, and domestic terrorism. He also served as a supervisory instructor at the FBI Academy. Mr. LeMieux is a Certified Fraud Examiner and he continues to serve as a Law Enforcement Fellow with Michigan State University’s Center for Anti-Counterfeiting and Product Protection.

Kim Farrell

Director of Commercial Services, Corsearch

Currently serves as the Director of Commercial Services for the north and south regions for Corsearch. Ms. Farrell’s areas of expertise encompass trademark and domain name searching both inthe U.S. and globally, trademark and domain name watching, domain name portfolio management and online brand protection in the form of web content monitoring and domain name recovery.
