This session examines why succession planning and talent pipeline development are now mission-critical defensive strategies, and explores proven approaches for organizations to address workforce challenges before they become security vulnerabilities. Presented by someone who's lived the problem from both sides: 30 years managing cybersecurity programs and developing workforce capabilities at AT&T, 10 years preparing the next generation at Chattahoochee Tech and Champlain College.

Abstract: Artificial Intelligence introduces novel security challenges, including adversarial attacks and model vulnerabilities. Then there is the issue of how to defend against these threats. This session will cover six different types of AI attacks in order to provide a better understanding of the threatscape along with capabilities needed to secure the data, the model, the usage and the infrastructure.

Bio: Stanton Gatewood is the US Department of Homeland Security /CISA - Region 4 Cyber Security State Coordinator/Advisor (State of Georgia). Gatewood is the former Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for the State of Georgia, Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and the University of Georgia. He has more than 37 years of teaching, cyber security/e-privacy experience in cybersecurity program management and strategic planning, executive leadership, including the U.S. federal, state, local, territorial, tribal governments, higher education, and several top 10 global corporations. Gatewood is also a USAF veteran and has also served as the Vice President for Information Technology and the Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Albany State University. Stanton has built 3 centers of excellence, (1) cryptography and (2) cyber awareness & training.
