IAMA President: Trevor Horwitz

Trevor Horwitz

An IAMA Board member from 2014 to present, Trevor Horwitz has over twenty years IT security, audit, and management experience. Trevor is the founder and CEO of TrustNet, a provider of on-demand IT security and compliance products and services.

Trevor is a Payment Card Industry (PCI) Qualified Security Assessor (QSA). As a member of the PCI Security Council Special Interest Group, he plays an active role in defining PCI data security standards for virtualization and cloud security. Trevor is a past Executive Board member of the Atlanta Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). He is a frequent guest speaker at industry and professional events including RSA Conference, Software Process Improvement Network, Emory University Goizueta Business School, ISACA, and numerous webinars hosted by VMWare, Sipera, and Cisco.

InfraGard Coordinator: FBI Special Agent Joan Cronier

Special Agent Cronier has a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s in Accounting from the University of South Florida.
SA Cronier has been a member of law enforcement for 29 years, including 11 years with the State of Florida and 18 years with the FBI. A vast part of her experience includes conducting large scale fraud investigations, including securities fraud, bank fraud, welfare fraud, insurance fraud, healthcare fraud and Internet fraud. More recently, she was assigned to the Atlanta Division Innocent Images/Crimes Against Children Task Force. She has worked as the Task Force Coordinator for five of her seven years on the task force.

In 2004, SA Cronier was awarded the U.S. Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service, the highest honor achieved by a Department of Justice employee. Joan can be reached at InfraGard_Atlanta@ic.fbi.gov.

VP Programming: Susie Bernard

Susie Bernard

IAMA Board member since January 2014, and passionate about the InfraGard mission, Susie has worked in information technology and security for over 25 years in various verticals including banking, energy, software and public sector. Over the past several years she developed a strong passion for security and is a champion for managing internal risk. Susie is currently in her dream job as Senior Manager of Internal Risk at Ionic Security in Atlanta, enjoying her niche focus on security awareness and education and hoping to change the world. We need to bring back trust and privacy to the Internet.

A former Microsoft employee and senior Windows operations manager on Wall Street, Susie holds a Master of Science in Digital Forensics and is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). She also serves as a Board advisor for the Information Technology Department at American Intercontinental University (AIU) and is a member of the Atlanta Metro chapter of ISSA. Jim served on the IAMA Steering Committee for a while and has made valuable contributions to the direction of IAMA. He has more than 40 years experience integrating security (physical, personnel, operations, cyber, etc) for the military, local police, private sector and Federal government agencies. Jim recognizes IAMA’s opportunity to work with other organizations security or business continuity based teams to better integrate security concerns. He believes security is an all encompassing idea that is an integral part of business resiliency and growth. Jim believes that InfraGard’s work with other security or business planning oriented organizations can greatly advance business, organizational and national resilience.

Board Member: Roman Lessnau

Roman Lessnau is passionate about the IAMA mission and wants to contribute to our nation’s security posture in order to make the county a better place for our children. Having served as a volunteer for most his life, he enjoys working with people toward a common goal.

A former member of the Armed Forces, Roman’s experience has taught him to be innovative and resourceful—to do more with less. He is an information technology and cyber security expert with over 19 years of industry experience. As the Practice Manager at Presidio for the Secure Networks Group in Georgia, he manages a team of professional services senior engineers, providing security policy, strategy and architecture consulting services. His team also performs security, compliance and network assessments for Fortune 100 companies and recommends remediation or mitigation strategies.

Roman has been summoned to provide expert testimony to attorneys, assist in incident and breach response analysis and provide security awareness training to various companies and agencies. He has been employed in the government, healthcare and commercial verticals, and he has managed large global environments with over 45,000+ users. In addition to holding a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Murray State University, Roman is a Certified Information Security Systems Specialist (CISSP) and holds multiple professional certifications in technology operations, malware, networking and security products. Treasurer: Bill Morrison

working on the engineering, implementation, and deployment of security controls and processes for healthcare products and systems. Previously, Bill spent 3 years with the nations largest not-for-profit healthcare system leading their Incident Response program, and over 22 years with a Fortune 15 company as an Information Security & Compliance Officer for their Pharma & high-tech manufacturing customers, providing services in Information Security, Threat & Vulnerability Assessment, Incident Management, and information security policies and standards. Bill also served as the senior incident handler/investigator on the Corporate IT Security Incident Response Team, and also served as a senior member of the IT Threat Analysis and Response team.

 
Bill is a current member of ISSA, ISACA, and Infragard. Bill has completed certifications for the (ISC)2 CISSP, SANS Incident Handler (GCIH) and Forensics Analyst (GCFA) certifications, as well as ISACA Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and Certified Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC).

Board Member: James Baird

James has more than 20 years of experience in information technology and the James Bairdprotection of information across many industries and with small, medium, and large enterprises. He currently is the Vice President and Security Officer for the American Cancer Society.

He has participated in a greater or lesser role with several Atlanta-area security and security-related organizations including the local chapters of Information Systems Security Association (ISSA), International Information Systems Forensics Association (IISFA), ISACA, and is his second go-round helping with IAMA (although this is his first time as a member of the Board). He also serves on the Ethics, Appeals and Impartiality Committee for the Professional Evaluation and Certification Board (PECB), an international certifying body for persons, management systems, and products on a wide range of international standards.

To complement his Master of Science in Information Assurance, James has earned these certifications: (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ISACA Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), ISO 27001 Lead Implementer, and ITIL Foundation certification.

Brian Friedman has 14 years of experience in the Retail, Wholesale Distribution, Corporate and Supply Chain Asset Protection / Security industry. Organizations including The Home Depot, along with HD Supply in various roles through the organizations. Worked with the National Retail Federation and Organized Retail Crime Alliance in Arizona to adopt legislation adopting more stringent focus and punishment for Organized Retail Crime. Established leader in the asset protection industry.

I consider board directorship with InfraGard Atlanta Members Alliance to be a privilege and an opportunity to be taken seriously. IAMA is uniquely positioned in the region for continued expansion and leadership in this trying, but exciting industry. Buffy has been an active member and held leadership roles in many investigation groups including: IAFCI, ACFE, ASIS and HTCIA.

Buffy has a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and maintains her Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credentials. Buffy is  very passionate about security awareness and education; she consistently teaches that “Security is everyone’s responsibility!”
