IAMA Elections Fall 2020
The IAMA Board of Directors is excited to to announce an opportunity for IAMA members to become more active in the leadership of our Chapter. If you wish to help shape the future of the Atlanta Chapter, there is no better position to do it from than as a member of the Board. From August 28 – October 2, 2020, the current IAMA Board is seeking qualified candidates who wish to run for 2021 Board member positions.
The IAMA Board is currently comprised of nine (9) members, which includes four (4) officers and five (5) Chairs. The officer positions are President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The Chair positions include Education, Sponsorships, Marketing, and Partnerships. Elections for the new Board will be held during the period November 16 – November 13, 2020 with votes being cast via an on-line platform. The Board members selected during this election will vote to determine Chapter officers/chairs during December 2020.
This board is highly active. Board members, in addition to carrying out the functions of an Officer or Chair, are required to attend bi-weekly board meetings, assist in planning and executing Chapter programming, conduct outreach to the membership, and work to recruit new members. Each elected Board member will serve a term of three (3) years. Please note that Board members are prohibited from soliciting to the membership.
Candidates must be IAMA members in good standing with the Board and it is preferred that candidates possess leadership skills, be a good communicator, and have strong networking abilities. Members interested in running for the 2021 Board are requested to send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org that contains a biography and a write-up of qualifications which addresses the preferred qualifications listed above. Also, please include a statement that describes your passion for Infragard. Information provided by the candidates will be compiled and forwarded to IAMA membership to inform their voting decision at least 30 days prior to the election period.
